Usage Tips for DermaQuell Skincare Products

Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer

Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer is the perfect addition to your skin care routine! Whether using it as a moisturizer for dry-feeling skin on your face or body, this non-greasy formula adds extra hydration to keep your skin fresh and soft.

This light, refreshing, gentleย skin moisturizer is formulated with a blend of botanicals that quickly absorb to nourish your skin. It features skin-supportive ingredients such as Calendula flower extract, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, and Moringa oil. This product has no added fragrance.

Use Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer anytime! It sits well under makeup (because itโ€™s not greasy) and it also makes for a fantastic night cream for skin. Thatโ€™s because it's rich in nutrients and combines hydrating and emollient ingredients to support your skin's moisture balance.

Due to the natural characteristics of the formula, Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer may vary in color over time, ranging from pale pink to deeper orange-pink tones depending on storage conditions and use. This variation does not affect product quality, safety, or performance.

Store in a cool, dry place.

Usage tips:

Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer can be used on the face or body on clean skin. Because it's a light, quickly absorbing, non-greasy formula, it can be used as a base layer under makeup and sunscreen, or as a standalone everyday moisturizer.

Apply Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer to the face or body after cleansing, showering or bathing. It's best to avoid the eye area (since this is not an eye cream). Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer can be reapplied throughout the day if necessary or as your go-to face and body moisturizer morning and night.

If not, you may need to add an extra layer of emollient protection on top of Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer, we recommend trying our Nourished Barrier Support Balm.

How much Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer should you use?

  • Pea-sized to blueberry amount for the face
  • Blueberry-sized amount for hands
  • Dime-sized amount for feet
  • Nickel-to-quarter-sized amount for each arm, torso
  • Quarter-to-half dollar-sized amount for each leg
  • Pea-sized or less for smaller areas

Nourish Butter

When your skinโ€™s desperately thirsty, Nourished Barrier Support Balm offers thick, soothing coverage to help your skin maintain hydration. Nourished Barrier Support Balm is our simplest formula, perfect for locking in moisture while providing nourishment with limited botanicals and intentional ingredients.

Formulated with hemp oil +ย Hypericum Perforatum L.ย extract, this rich salve is ideal for skin that feels rough or parched, especially at night.ย

This product has no added fragrance but a grassy aroma.

The consistency of this product is more of a nourishing salve rather than a light cream that will quickly disappear due to the ingredients helping to maintain the moisture of your skin. And since it is a natural product without any fillers, some separation (that doesnโ€™t impact the formula) may occur.

Usage tips:

Nourished Barrier Support Balm is designed to remain on the surface of the skin for a longer time to fortify the skinโ€™s barrier and seal in moisture.

Nourished Barrier Support Balm can be used on the face and body (avoid the eye area), and is best used as a second layer. You will be able to feel it on the surface of the skin, but it does not appear shiny or greasy after it soaks in.

For best results and optimum hydration, first apply Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer, then apply a small amount of Nourished Balm on top BEFORE the Daily Calm fully absorbs.

How much Nourished Barrier Support Balm should you use?

  • Pea-sized amount for the face
  • Blueberry-sized amount for hands
  • Dime-sized amount for feet
  • Nickel-to-quarter-sized amount for each arm, torso
  • Quarter-to-half dollar-sized amount for each leg
  • Pea-sized or less for smaller areas

If Nourished Balm leaves an oil stain on clothing or fabric:

  1. Wear gloves if you have any areas of concern on your hands.
  2. Blot out as much of the oil stain as possible with dry paper towels or reusable cleaning cloths.
  3. Apply dish soap vigorously to the area with fingers or a toothbrush to loosen the oils from the fabric.
  4. Sprinkle aluminum-free baking soda or arrowroot powder onto the area and continue scrubbing with fingers or toothbrush until the powdery paste starts to dry. Set it aside for an hour.
  5. Soak in hot water until water cools, then launder regularly.
  6. Allow to air dry the first time to make sure stain is gone.

Z+ Rebuilder

Z+ Rebuilder is formulated to nourish dry-feeling skin with zinc and plant oils. With added zinc, this soothing cream is made with a combination of skin-calming botanicals.

Amazing as a spot treatment, Z+ Rebuilder is an excellent addition to your routine to help support skin with jojoba oil, calendula, lavender, and rosehip seed oil.

This product is not a moisturizer, but can easily be combined with one like the Daily Calm Hydrating Moisturizer, or lock in the benefits of Z+ Rebuilder by topping with Nourished Barrier Support Balm.

This product has no added fragrance but a fresh, light lavender aroma. The Vitamin E in Z+ Rebuilder is derived from sunflower, not soy.

Although this product contains zinc oxide, it has not been tested or approved for use as a sunscreen. This product offers no SPF protection.

Usage tips:

Z+ Rebuilder is a spot treatment, designed to add a nourishing and protective barrier layer to areas of concern. It is not meant to be used as an overall face or body moisturizer.

A little Z+ Rebuilder goes a long way and it's best combined with Nourished Barrier Support Balm, another oil or moisturizer since the product is not a moisturizer on its own. If applied alone, it could feel drying.

Apply ยฝ a pea-sized amount to the affected area.

Because zinc oxide may stain clothing, it is best to apply unbleached/organic cotton or muslin fabric, cotton or bamboo gloves or socks over Z+ Rebuilder.

If you get a zinc oxide stain on clothing or bed linens:

  1. Wear gloves if you have any areas of concern on your hands.
  2. Blot out as much of the stain as possible with dry paper towels or reusable cleaning cloths.

Alternative methods for oil stains or zinc oxide stains:

  1. Wear gloves if you have any areas of concern on your hands.
  2. Blot out as much of the oil stain as possible with dry paper towels or reusable cleaning cloths.
  3. Spray alcohol on the stain and run it under cold water, adding in more alcohol as needed. OR rub the item with dish soap and water first, either with your fingers or an old clean toothbrush. Then soak it in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for 30 minutes.
  4. Launder as usual.
  5. Allow to air dry the first time to make sure stain is gone.

Soft Lip Conditioner Balm

Soft Lip Conditioner Balm is a fragrance-free, no-shine lip conditioner that locks in moisture, infused with Zinc and Calendula.

Unlike the oil-based lip balms that you โ€œburnโ€ through from reapplying between 6 to 20+ times a day, and ultimately eating 24 milligrams of lip balm DAILY (which adds up to about 3.5 to 7 pounds over time), the Soft Lip Conditioner Balm is wax-based.

Our balm goes on with the perfect matte finish to rebuild and lock in moisture that don't just wipe off with each bite or sip! Our founder only uses it 2x/day (typically after brushing teeth) even in the coldest months of winter or at high elevation (i.e. 9,100 ft mountain in Colorado with snow and ice).

And thatโ€™s why you only need to use it 1 to 3x/day!

Usage tips:

Apply the balm directly to each lip by going back and forth 4 to 8 times. This warms up the waxes and coats your lip. Unlike oil-based balms, it will not spread if you only put it on one lip and smoosh your lips together.

Use your Soft Lip Conditioner Balm 1 to 3x/day, because thatโ€™s all you really need!

For best results, give the Soft Lip Conditioner Balm a week of consistent use (ideally 2x/day) and youโ€™ll feel the difference!

BONUS โ€“ You can apply lipstick or gloss over top of the untinted Soft Lip Conditioner Balm.

Got one of our tinted lip balms? These apply the same way! The more passes across each lip, the more pronounced the tint is to give your lips subtle color.

Hereโ€™s how our founder applies Soft Lip Conditioner Balm:

How much Soft Lip Conditioner Balm should you use?

  • Typically 4 to 8 passes over each lip.
  • Reapply as needed. Most people reapply 1 to 3x/day.
  • Consistent use of 1-3x/day for a week will get you the best results, especially if youโ€™re used to oil-based balms.
  • For the tinted options, the more passes across each lip, the more vibrant the tint will present on the lips.
